Spellbinding Spelling

A few instances where I happened to come across words spelt in exactly the way they are pronounced:
1. Seen outside a cycle mechanic's - Mani servis and puncher shop
2. A lodging - Singal and doubal rooms for batchlars... Contact....
3. An internet cafe - Pandian browzing center.... e-mail, chating, games....
They still seem to convey the message don't they?

It was a murky Saturday afternoon and I joblessly ventured into watching a 'great' movie on SUN TV starring the little superstar, "Simbhu". I affectionately prefer calling him "Sombhu" for very obvious reasons. The movie was called "Kaadhal Azhivadhillai"(Love can never be destroyed). That is a misnomer I am sure for one's love for movies does get destroyed on watching this particular reel. Very fortunately, I only happened to watch the movie after the first half. Dialogues were studded with the least poetic sense and each of it was delivered with the same intensity and expression characteristic of a person suffering from sudden onset of profuse watery stool filled with blood and mucus. Shelley said 'Spring' but I say 'Summer'

Percy Shelley did remark quite an era ago that when winter came, spring wouldn't be far behind. His poetic rendition on a beautiful fact of life is true, but I would recommend another season to Mr. Shelley and wish he would be / were already reborn in Chennai to appreciate this fact. So, assuming that the then Shelley, now reborn as probably a Selvaraj, is able to telepathically get the import of this blog, I continue... I was in an air-conditioned car today in the middle of a test track about 100 km from Chennai. It was a good start to a day of testing and everything seemed to be going smooth until about 9:30 am. Slowly, the pleasantness of the confined comfort zone started to express the crude reality of the world outside. The day was actually getting as hot as it was bright. Spelllinngg!!!

I just bought this new cricket bat for my leagues next season. It is an amazing piece of white willow and the balance is just outstanding. It is well knocked-in and ready for use. Sadly, it has a name that made me remove the stickers the day I bought it. It's called MATRRIXX! Now, who on earth would name a bat like that? Maybe they consulted Daffy Duck (of the Looney Tunes) before naming it. Or maybe it is to avoid getting into copyright clashes with the 'Matrix' range from Sunridges (SS). Whatever the reason, the name sucks and I spent a couple of hours removing the stickers without peeling off the willow. Now, sticker-peeling isn't an easy task. It needs great care because the adhesive used is so strong and the wood so soft that it brings out bat chips along with it. After peeling, the entire bat gets sticky and the only solution to erase this is to use either petrol or kerosene and wipe the entire bat with a cloth dipped in it.
